Originally released in 1973, the L6-S was the first Gibson with 24 Frets and featured a Les Paul-style body. This updated version of the Gibson classic features 490R neck and 498T bridge humbuckers and a 6-position switch to blend the “bite” and midrange for a tone that is unbeatable. The slim-taper neck is fast and comfortable and the attractive silverburst finish gives the guitar a stealthy modern appearance. This is one of the more intriguing new models to emanate from Gibson in the mid-1970s, the L6S was favored by Carlos Santana, Paul Stanley of Kiss and Rich Williams of Kansas, along with several other notable players of the day, and quickly proved its power born from a marriage of Gibson tradition and a sleek, efficient, modern design ethos.
