These Gold Sparkle Custom Shop Telecasters were part of a limited edition run produced in the mid 90′s, using the “Lucite” finishes that Fender used over the years with their “Sparkle” Finishes. This is number 27 of a run on 29 guitars. They offered these in 3 colours, Silver Sparkle, Champagne Sparkle and of course these Gold Sparkle versions, all colors that they had used in the early 60′s, made of the same materials. They are based pretty much on the specs of a 1965 Telecaster, with the pre “Maple cap” one piece neck / fretboard, transition “spaghetti” logo. 3 grooved bridge saddles, Kluson style tuners. The neck shape matches what you find in 1965 and 1966. They certainly nailed the tone with these, the pickups are nice and clear and real twangy.
