The Martin D-28 John Lennon is a wonderful dreadnought model from Martins Artist Signature series. It’s based on the original dreadnought that John Lennon played and a number of details on the guitar refer to him. The headstock shows Lennon’s famous self portrait and the ebony fingerboard has Lennon-themed, mother-of-pearl inlays.
The solid East-Indian rosewood back is inlaid with a peace sign.
This signature dreadnought has a solid Sitka spruce top, while the back and the sides of the body are made from solid East Indian rosewood. The neck of the Martin D-28 John Lennon is dark mahogany and the top nut is made from bone. The neck joins the body at the 14th fret and there are 20 frets in total.
Vintage Tone System
The spruce top and the bracing of the guitar were treated with Martins Vintage Tone System, a torrefaction system that ages the instrument so it will sound like it’s actually vintage.
Not just for Lennon fans, this Martin D-28 John Lennon is a great dreadnought with an authentic, vintage sound.
